BELOVED IS HE THAT BELIEVE

Precious Lord,

"He that knock," sayeth the Lord. "I will hear and enter."

So simple a request from our beloved Lord.

I knocked and He entered my life and gave
me the peace that I needed.

Beloved is He, and all who ask Him into their hearts.
Amen

PEACE WITHIN

The quietness of your soul,
seeks a serene calm area to roam.

Finally found in the lowly ground; overlooking
a meadow where the river swells to the sea.

A picturesque field of Poppies, swaying in the
breeze.

Filling the air with with an auroma to please.

Among the scattering of my deepest soul, I see
the world in a whole new way.

Keeping the course that I found today. I will
navigate there again and give my troubles away.

MY BIRTHDAY AUGUST 9, 2010 - MY NEW WATCH FROM HUSBAND

Today is my birthday, 75th, and it is a special day.... because I have a wonderful life and great children, and step-children and together my husband and I have lots of grand children and great grand children.

My day started off with me waking up and remembering that today was my birthday. I got out of bed with robust energy knowing that the day would be filled with a breakfast at Denney's Restaurant (free) with proof of birthday. It was so good and I loved it. I got birthday phone calls from my family that started yesterday. It was so good to hear their sweet voices wishing me a Happy Birthday!

The best part of this day is knowing that the good Lord has given me good health and energy to do all the things that retired people do, traveling, day trips, gatherings with family and best of all a nice husband to share this all with.

I am so proud to be a Mother, Grandmother, and wife, and a friend to all. Life couldn't be better. We must enjoy each day that the Lord gives us, with no regrets or misgivings about anything. Just live for today, because yesterday is gone, and tomorrow doesn't belong to us, so live for today!!!

Blessing and happiness to all....

FOURTH OF JULY 2010

FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND....

Having a family get-together in Arizona was fabulous. The Andersen's (my son David & daughter-in-law Stacy) came for a weekend visit. They brought their son Kenny and his girlfriend Sami. We had so much *family fun* and so many good meals together. The best was the last dinner where Mike (son-in-law) bbqed Shis-K-bobs. Also, Sami made a BBQ cake on the grill. That was a first for me, as I've never had that experience before. She decorated it with blueberries and strawberries, and it was delicious. We all went to a nearby park to watch the fireworks. We made smores and relaxed in lawn chairs. We had Cheryl and Mikes girls with us and they decided to sing songs, which we enjoyed. Angel, Cheryl and Mike's German Shepard went with us.

So let us get together again next Fourth of July, 2011 in Arizona and do it all over again!!!

Dearest Lord,

You touch my soul with your abundance of gifts,
given with love.

You give them to us with full measure asking nothing
in return; only to reach out to others showing our
Christianity and compassion for humanity.

POEM: ENSLAVED BY YOUR LOVE

ENSLAVED BY YOUR LOVE - To be a person without woes, is a dreamer without a dream. To envision a place serene to embrace, brings memories of old entwined with the new. I seek your love embodied in my soul, giving me warmth and making me whole. I've reached the pinnacle of my every dream; having you beside me is everything. BY: Wanda Messimer

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO THE BRAVE MEN/WOMEN BEFORE US - May 31, 2010

I honor our Military today and always... We have a great country and you've paved the road for the freedom that we are experiencing in America. I have family members who've been in the military and those that are still active. They are brave and have left a legacy forever imprinted in our footsteps called FREEDOM.

My Uncle Clayton Atwood (deceased) was among the brave. He was awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery. Clayton was wounded and became disabled. He will be forever remembered in my heart.

My husband was also amongst the brave military. He served some of his duty in Viet Nam in "Research and Rescue." He was stationed on a Navy ship, which was their base for helicopters to fly into the jungles in Nam, rescuing the fallen soldier's from their aircraft. A very dangerous job. The area was cleared by the Gatlin Guns before he went down in a sling to pick-up the wounded. Now, that's bravery, and he is to be honored on this Memorial Day. He made it out alive and is here to tell his story, which is something that us, living in the states couldn't fathom, unless we were there. I am very proud of you Bruce Messimer.

My son Steve Andersen is retired from the Navy and working in the field that he studied while in the service. He is a Dental Technican and has made many partials, and full dentures in his Naval Lab. He is now working in a lab in the Mid-West as a Supervisor and does hands-on work. I am very proud of him for his dedication to our country and his family.

I have two Grandsons Joshua and Trevor and a Step-Grandson Adam that are now on active duty, serving their country. They are young and ambitious and very patriotic doing their upmost to keep America free. I honor you three men for your dedication to our wonderful country.

I pray for peace and for our freedom to stay alive. In these troubled times in politics, our adversaries are right in the mix waiting.

A quote from Thomas Jefferson: "For a people who are free, and who mean to remain so, a well-organized and armed Militia is their best security." Thomas Jefferson

Tax Day "Tea Party" In Queen Creek/San Tan Valley, AZ

A Tax Day "Tea Party" was held in Queen Creek/San Tan Valley, Arizona on April 15, 2010.

My husband and I went mainly to see what it was all about. The first speaker that spoke said to us, "Are you a Racist or Redneck?" The crowd raised their hands and said, "no sir we're not!"

That's how the meeting started out. The speaker said that, that's what the "Tea Party" program has been labeled. It is so far from the truth; signs of protest against the present administration were held up, and everything that was written was fact and not fiction. Freedom to protest is our constitional right as stated in the constitution.

All-in-all it was interesting and a good American experience that I will remember when I go to the polls this November 2010 to vote the American way. Freedom for the people by the people, voting for the leaders that will fulfill and keep alive the "American Dream."

LIFE WITH YOU JESUS

I reached out and found You, waiting for me to call your name.
My deepest thought was, Where' oh where' have you been.
Realizing that You were always by my side I felt the pangs of guilt.

Oh, my gracious Lord, You saved a place for me in your heart. My
heart is filled with the joy of having You as my companion throughout
my day.

I pray that You will give me hope to withstand life's many hurts, and
that I will be a better person for getting through them.
Gracious Lord I love You so.
Amen

THE ANGELS ABOVE

He knows the Angels that we need,
and sends them to our side;
To Comfort, Guard, and Guide.
Thank you Jesus!

USS DEWEY (DDG 105) Commissioning March 6, 2010

A little information about the USS Dewey: - USS DEWEY (DDG-105) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, and once commissioned, will be one of the most powerful warships in the world.

USS DEWEY - is the third ship of the United States Navy to be named for Admiral of the Navy George Dewey, a hero of the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American war. Admiral Dewey was born: December 26, 1837, and died in Washington, DC on January 16, 1917.

USS DEWEY MOTTO: DYNAMIS EX CARDIAS, translates to "The Will to Fight From the Heart"
_____________________________________

March 6, 2010 a special day for the family of Joshua Andersen who is stationed on the USS DEWEY. I am so proud of my grandson Joshua. The USS DEWEY was the first U.S. Navy commissioning ceremony to ever be held in Seal Beach, or anywhere else in Orange County.

We were all worried about the weather, so everyone was advised to bring their unbrella's, which we did! Before the ceremony it clouded up and rain started coming down. All of a sudden the skies cleared and the sun came shining through the clouds. Talk about a 'happy' crowd! I got some great pictures of all of us and the ship.

I had chill bumps with each speech that was presented. David W. Sloan Mayor, and Admiral, U.S. Navy M.G. Mullen were there, alongside many dedicated military officers proudly representing the military in all they do to protect us. It was so patriotic and special, knowing that our young people are protecting our freedom and all the rights that freedom brings our great country.

My husband and I are so glad that we went and were there to welcome this ship to the fleet.

A DAY AT THE RINK

My twin granddaughter's Michelle and Danielle (12) are very good roller skaters today! A few years back I took them roller skating and since then between their Mom and Dad and myself we've kept the sport alive, and take them as much as we can. Lately though they've wanted to go more so it's okay with us. What good excerise for them and their love of looking forward to going each weekend is what makes me happy!

They now show the skill that they learned and really have a good time at the rink. They are good skaters and I'm proud of them for sticking to it. They meet friends there and take along a friend or two at times.

Over this President's day weekend we went twice. My husband's daughter Celeste, and her son (our grandson Trevor) went skating with us. My husband and I watched as they sped by and enjoyed every minute of the time at the rink.

The next day we went to a movie at the Harkin's movie theatre. This is the movie we saw: "Lighting Thief" - Good movie if you like a mythology based movie. The movie had a plot about the lighting rod thief. You got lost in it with your imagination. It was a good movie for kids and adults too! It had a good ending, which makes the movie worth seeing.

All-in-all I enjoyed the weekend with family. It was busy and active and I'm wanting to do it all over again....!

GENTLE EYES

The Gentle Eyes of Jesus give hope us hope when we have doubt.

The Gentle Eyes of Jesus make us look within, not out.

Oh! Our Heavenly Father, You breathed and Jesus life began. Gentle and
sweet and in the 'Image' of man.

Oh, Precious God up above; thank you for giving us Jesus to love.

Jesus' Gentle Eyes are ours to behold, keeping us calm and making us whole.

We praise You each day for your Faith, Love and Hope; with your energizing Eyes
keeping us close.

To You Lord we give thanks, keeping your commandments as our energy bank.
Fulfilled by your love, and washed by your blood, your Gentle Eyes are penetrating
your love.
Amen

MY CHRISTIAN BROTHER

A christian shines with pure delight, not knowing the future not now in sight.

His eyes are pure, his smile demure; he is my brother, alike are we, we have the same Father His children are we.

We seek, we find together forever in constant peace. Keep seeking and finding and my brother you'll know , for his light will blind you as his goodness shows.

JESUS STEP LADDER OF FAITH

PREFACE....

The day Jesus died on the cross, his step ladder was buried, but never lost. His job as a Carpenter was not without end.

God's plan as it be - was to get the message to you and me. So Jesus came forth, and we wouldn't let him go. His spiritual warfare was guiding us through. And his step ladder of faith brought us to You.

JESUS STEP LADDER OF FAITH

Up above oh so high, Jesus step ladder is lowered below....

Step 1..... His ladder is out - He is needed on earth - He's the Savior for sinner's who are down on their luck.

Step 2...... Step 3......
His beeper sounds, and low and behold it's neighbor Joe; Satan is attacking his body and soul. Joe cries out, "Oh Jesus Whoa! I need You now in the very worst way. I'm about to fall and I need your strength, to stay off the bottle before I sink."

By Step 4.....
Jesus appears, letting Joe know that he's safe and okay. Jesus never gets past Step 4. He starts back home to his heavenly post, and the beeper keeps him busy with earthly woes.

The alarm sounds and Jesus steps down - A friend not foe is on the ground. A robbery occured and a good man fell. So Jesus went after the target man. Saving him is Jesus aim, to bring him to his Father without blame. Only Love him home and have faith he will be; a sinner saved into eternity.
Amen

TRUE STORY OF A TIME IN MY LIFE....

Wanda Messimer

This is a true story of a time in my life that
I needed inspiration – and kept praying to God
for guidance – this is what came about...

It was raining outside, and I was in the harmony of the pitter-patter
on the window pane; sitting on the couch relaxed, and in-between
jobs, I had free time on my hands.

I was watching the “700 Club,” hosted by Ben Kinslow that day.
Fascinated by the message that was being delivered, I listened, not
knowing the impact it would have on me. Ben was saying to do the
best at whatever is your passion in life. Whether it be writing,
singing, painting, or a student – “Just Put Your Best Foot Forward,”
and with dedication and forbearance – go forward. I had no idea
my interest would be in poetry. I liked the “play-on-words,” and
enjoyed reading poetry and prose.

I turned off the television, and reached for my tablet and pen. My
first impluse was to jot down ideas of what my passion was.
Instinctively, I felt a pull toward writing about nature and the
wonderful world we live in; the happiness and joy of being alive.
As I finished writing the poem, I read it over, and was pleased with
the words that flowed onto the paper. I went about my day’s
activities, never giving the poem another thought.

The next day at 10:00 A.M., I turned on the 700 Club, and
listened to the message. Ben Kinslow was speaking on the subject
“follow your dreams.” It was almost like he was speaking directly
to me. At that moment, I realized my dream was writing. I turned
the television off and wrote four poems. This went on for about
two weeks – my head was spinning with more ideas for poems.

Through Ben Kinslow the Lord was speaking to me. His
message brought out the power of my written words, that were
hidden within my soul, and needed a little push to surface.

My poems took off. At this point, two of them are published
in the “New American Poetry Anthology Book, by John Campbell,
Editor and Publisher. In 1988 I won a contest, honoring me as the
“Golden Poet” of the year. The poem that I wrote for the contest
was titled “God’s Love Grows.”

As I was walking up to the podium to accept my trophy, I said
a silent prayer. “Oh Lord, thank you for believing in me and bringing
me to this place.” The trophy sits on my computer desk,
always reminding me to stay close to the Lord, and never give up on
myself.

ARIZONA WEATHER

I have only lived in Arizona for seven months now. It has been dry with little or no rain. Today all of that changed; rain, rain, and more rain. The reservoirs were not at their capacity, but now with the rain for two days, they are full. So that is what is good about our weather at the present. Just hope that it subsides so the flooding will stop in Phoenix and near by.
Summers are 'hot' here, but that is only two months out of the year, July and August; good time to visit and keep in touch with family out of state.

I really do like Arizona and what the West offers. The beauty is all around where we live. Mountains and Lakes, and scenery that is gorgeous. I keep my digital camera with me when we go anywhere, as I might capture a beautiful bird,(road runner)or the sun setting behind the surrounding mountains.

I use to travel through Arizona as a kid with my parents. I never in my dreams believed that I'd be here someday. Now, it's real and I'm living and loving the West.

The Will Of The People

I would like to introduce myself.... My name is Wanda Messimer and I was born and raised in California. San Francisco is my birthplace. I've lived in the South, Midwest, and I now live in Arizona.

I am a Republican and I voted for John McCain, and his Vice President in running Sara Palin. They did not win. So, now we are led by the Democratic party. Today was a 'big' event because Scott Brown won the election for Republican Senator. Now we will have to wait and see how things can be turned around. I hope that both parties can come together in agreement on the Health Care reform. History seems to repeat itself, and things happen for a reason. I think a 'miracle' just happened today in the history of the people from Massachusetts. They have been a democratic state for many years. TODAY was change for them. Let's hope there is a message from the voters today, and that history will not repeat itself....!
